DWM Crews Onsite Repairing Main Break at the Intersection of Spring St. NW and 17th St. NW Road

Expected to Reopen by Morning Commute

ATLANTA – Department of Watershed Management (DWM) crews are on site addressing a sinkhole at the intersection of Spring St. NW and 17th St. NW. During the repair process, a gas line was inadvertently damaged.

Atlanta Gas Light (AGL) crews are also on site performing necessary gas line repairs. Once AGL has completed its work, DWM crews will resume and complete repairs to the broken water line. The situation is stable, and the roadway is expected to reopen in time for the morning commute.

As a result of this incident, three southbound lanes are currently closed. Traffic control measures are in place to safely guide motorists around the work zone. Drivers are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the area and, if possible, seek alternate routes.

DWM will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as new information becomes available.
