Sewer System Evaluation

 

What: The Department of Watershed Management will conduct a smoke test of the sewer system as part of the system evaluation

Where: Affected streets during the system evaluation include:

  • Woodbine Circle SE
  • 1494 Memorial Drive

When: Thursday, April 2, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

 

Comments: The Department Watershed Management contractors will perform sewer system evaluations in East Atlanta to locate defects and improve the sanitary sewer services. Work is scheduled for Thursday, April 2, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., weather permitting. The location sites include: Woodbine Circle SE and 1494 Memorial Drive

 

Smoke testing process: Smoke testing only takes a few hours, and forces smoke filled air into the sanitary sewer system. The smoke is non-toxic, odorless, and fills the sewer line and only escapes to the surface if there are any defects in the sanitary sewer system that need repair.
