Location: Harris St. NE between Peachtree St NE and Peachtree Center Ave NE and Peachtree Center Ave NE will be closed between Andrew Young International Blvd NE and John Portman Blvd NE. 

Date & Duration: Work will begin on Monday, December 15, 2025, with a 24-hour road closure in place. The work is expected to last approximately six weeks, weather permitting. Work will occur Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. A construction moratorium will be in effect from December 22, 2025, through January 5, 2026, in observance of the holiday season. 

Details: As part of compliance with a regulatory consent order, emergency sewer repairs will be conducted, existing sewer mains will be removed and replaced to repair defects and increase the sewer system’s capacity. 

Traffic Control: Traffic control measures and signage are in place to safely guide motorists around the work zone. Residents and businesses within the work area will maintain access to homes, mail and package delivery, emergency services, and trash collection. 

Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution, follow posted detours, and avoid the area when possible. Alternative parking will be required for vehicles typically parked on the street. 

Detours: Motorists traveling northbound on Peachtree Center Ave NE turn left on Andrew Young International Blvd NE, and turn right on Peachtree St NE. 

Motorists traveling eastbound on John Portman Blvd NE turn right on Peachtree St NE, turn left on Ellis St NE, turn left on Piedmont Ave NE, turn right on John Portman Blvd NE, and right to access I-85.
