Location: 125 Decatur St. SE between Courtland St. SE and Piedmont Ave. SE

Date & Duration: Work will begin on Monday, December 8, 2025, with a 24-hour lane closure in place. The work is expected to last approximately four weeks, weather permitting. Work will occur Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Details: As part of compliance with a regulatory consent order, emergency sewer repairs will be conducted, existing sewer mains will be removed and replaced to repair defects and increase the sewer system’s capacity.

Traffic Control: TThe Department of Watershed Management (DWM) will perform sewer mainline rehabilitation requiring a 24-hour lane closure.

Traffic control measures and signage are in place to safely guide motorists around the work zone. Residents and businesses within the work area will maintain access to homes, mail and package delivery, emergency services, and trash collection.

Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution, follow posted detours, and avoid the area when possible. Alternative parking will be required for vehicles typically parked on the street.

Detours: Motorists traveling East on Decatur Street SE turn left on Peachtree Center Avenue SE, turn right on Gilmer Street SE, turn right on Jesse Hill Jr. Drive SE, and left on Decatur Street SE.
