Location: 22 Peachtree Center Avenue SE between Edgewood Avenue SE and Decatur Street SE 

Date & Duration: Work will begin on Monday, January 26, 2026, with a 24-hour road closure in place. The work is expected to last approximately six to eight weeks, weather permitting. Work will occur Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

Details: As part of compliance with a regulatory consent order, emergency sewer repairs will be conducted, existing sewer mains will be removed and replaced to repair defects and increase the sewer system’s capacity. 

Traffic Control: Traffic control measures and signage are in place to safely guide motorists around the work zone. Residents and businesses within the work area will maintain access to homes, mail and package delivery, emergency services, and trash collection. 

Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution, follow posted detours, and avoid the area when possible. Alternative parking will be required for vehicles typically parked on the street. 

Detours: Motorists traveling northbound on Shirley Franklin Boulevard/Peachtree Center Avenue NE (left lane) turn left on Decatur St. SE., turn right on Forsyth St. SW., left on Peachtree St., right on Ellis St., and left on Peachtree Center Ave. NE. 

Motorists traveling northbound on Shirley Franklin Boulevard/Peachtree Center Avenue NE (right lane) turn right on Decatur St. SE., left on Piedmont Ave. NE., left on John Wesley Dobbs Ave., and right on Peachtree Center Ave. NE.
