Location: 239 4th Street NE between Piedmont Ave. NE and Penn Ave. NE 

Date & Duration: Work will continue Friday, March 6, 2026, with a 24-hour road closure in place. The work is expected to last approximately six weeks, weather permitting, and will take place Monday through Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

Details: As part of compliance with a regulatory consent order, DWM will perform emergency sewer repairs. Existing sewer mains will be removed and replaced to repair defects and increase the sewer system’s capacity. 

Traffic Control: Traffic control measures and signage are in place to safely guide motorists around the work zone. Residents and businesses within the work area will maintain access to homes, mail and package delivery, emergency services, and trash collection. 

Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution, follow posted detours, and avoid the area when possible. Alternative parking will be required for vehicles typically parked on the street. 

Detours: Motorists traveling East on 4th Street NE, turn right on Piedmont Ave. NE., turn left on Ponce De Leon Ave. NE., left on Penn Ave. NE., and right on 4th St. NE. 

Motorists traveling West on 4th Street NE, turn right on Penn Ave. NE., turn left on 5th St. NE., turn left on Piedmont Ave. NE., and right on 4th St. NE. 

Motorists traveling North on Myrtle Street NE, turn right on Ponce De Leon Ave. NE., turn left on Penn Ave. NE., turn left on 5th St. NE., and right on Myrtle St.NE. 

Motorists traveling South on Myrtle Street NE, turn right on 5th St. NE., turn left on Juniper St. NE., turn left on Ponce De Leon Ave. NE., and right on Myrtle St.
