Location: 98 William Holmes Borders Senior Dr. SE between Gartrell Street and Tanner Street 

Date & Duration: Work will begin on Monday, October 27th, 2025, with a 24-hour road closure in place. The work is expected to last approximately six weeks, weather permitting. Work will occur Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Details: As part of compliance with a regulatory consent order, emergency sewer repairs will be conducted, existing sewer mains will be removed and replaced to repair defects and increase the sewer system’s capacity. 

Traffic Control: The Department of Watershed Management (DWM) will perform sewer mainline rehabilitation requiring a 24-hour road closure. 

Traffic control measures and signage are in place to safely guide motorists around the work zone. Residents and businesses within the work area will maintain access to homes, mail and package delivery, emergency services, and trash collection. 

Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution, follow posted detours, and avoid the area when possible. Alternative parking will be required for vehicles typically parked on the street. 

Detours: Motorists traveling South on William Holmes Borders Senior Dr. SE turn right on Tanner St. SE, turn left on Hilliard St. SE, and left on Decatur St. SE. 

Motorists traveling North on William Holmes Borders Senior Dr. SE turn right on Gartrell St. SE, turn left on Jackson St. SE, and left on Chamberlain St. SE.
