RM Clayton Water Reclamation Plant Operation Returning to Normal
DWM Continues to Monitor Plant Operations
ATLANTA – On Wednesday, December 20, 2023, residents in the vicinity of the Department of Watershed Management’s RM Clayton Water Reclamation Plant may have noticed an unpleasant odor. This issue was caused by a power glitch that occurred at a Georgia Power substation that supplies electricity to the plant. Power has been restored to the plant and the odor control units are now operating correctly. Plant operations are gradually returning to normal.
DWM continues monitoring conditions at RM Clayton WRC and is dedicated to safeguarding the residents’ well-being throughout Atlanta. Regulatory compliance is a top priority for the department, and protecting our customers’ and visitors’ health and safety is essential. Treating wastewater to the highest standard possible is vital.
