TRAFFIC ADVISORY
Emergency Road Closure on 10th Street NE Due to Sewer Mainline Work
Location: 250 10th Street NE between Myrtle Street NE and Argonne Avenue NE
Date & Duration: Beginning Wednesday, April 29, 2026, a continuous 24-hour road closure will be implemented. The work is scheduled to continue for approximately four weeks, weather permitting, with construction activities occurring Monday through Friday, between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Details: As part of compliance with a regulatory consent order, the Department of Watershed Management (DWM) will perform emergency sewer repairs. Existing sewer mains will be removed and replaced to repair defects and increase the sewer system’s capacity.
Traffic Control: Traffic control measures and signage are in place to safely guide motorists around the work zone. Residents and businesses within the work area will maintain access to homes, mail and package delivery, emergency services, and trash collection.
Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution, follow posted detours, and avoid the area when possible. Alternative parking will be required for vehicles typically parked on the street.
Detours: Motorists traveling east on 10th Street NE will detour by turning right onto Juniper Street NE, left onto 8th Street NE, left onto Charles Allen Drive NE, and right back onto 10th Street NE.
Motorists traveling north on Piedmont Avenue NE should continue straight, turn right onto Monroe Drive NE to reconnect to 10th Street NE.
