Location: The Intersection of 6th Street NE and W. Peachtree Street NW 

Date & Duration: Beginning Tuesday, April 28, 2026, the intersection at 6th Street NE and W. Peachtree Street NW will be closed. The work is expected to last approximately two weeks, weather permitting, and will take place Monday through Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

Details: As part of the City’s water distribution maintenance program, crews will perform valve replacement work for its 36-inch valve located in the intersection of 6th Street NE and W. Peachtree Street NW. 

Traffic Control: Traffic control measures and signage are in place to safely guide motorists around the work zone. Residents and businesses within the work area will maintain access to homes, mail and package delivery, emergency services, and trash collection. 

Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution, follow posted detours, and avoid the area when possible. Alternative parking will be required for vehicles typically parked on the street. 

Detours: Motorists traveling north on W. Peachtree Street NW will detour by turning right onto 5th Street NE, left onto Cypress Street NE, and right back onto 6th Street NE. 

Motorists traveling west on 6th Street NE will detour by turning left onto Cypress Street NE, right onto 5th Street NE, and right back onto W. Peachtree Street NW.
