Location: Edgewood Avenue SE from Fort Street SE to William Holmes Borders Senior Drive SE. 

Date & Duration: Beginning Tuesday, August 11, 2026, a 24-hour road closure will be in effect. The work is expected to continue for approximately one week, weather permitting. 

Details: Crews will make emergency repairs to a six-inch water main, resulting in the closure of one westbound lane on Edgewood Avenue SE. 

Traffic control measures and signs are in place to guide motorists around the work zone. Residents and businesses within the work zone will continue to have access to their homes, mail, and package delivery, emergency services, and trash pick-up. Motorists are urged to use caution and avoid the area if possible. 

Detours: Traveling eastbound on Edgewood Ave. SE 

• Turn left onto Fort St. northbound 
• Turn right onto Auburn Ave. eastbound 
• Turn right onto Jackson St. southbound 
• Turn left to return onto Edgewood Ave. eastbound 

Traveling westbound on Edgewood Ave. SE 

• Turn right onto Jackson St. northbound 
• Turn left onto Auburn Ave. westbound 
• Turn left onto Leonard Tate St. (Bell St.) southbound 
• Turn right to return onto Edgewood Ave. westbound 

Traveling northbound on Hilliard St. SE: 

• Turn right onto Tanner St. eastbound 
• Turn left onto WH Borders then immediately right onto Chamberlain St. eastbound 
• Turn left onto Jackson St. northbound 
• Turn left onto Auburn Ave. westbound
