Location: 504 10th Street NE between Charles Allen Drive NE and Monroe Drive NE 

Date & Duration: Beginning Wednesday, May 13, 2026, an eastbound lane closure will be in place. The work is expected to last for approximately four weeks, weather permitting. 

Construction activities that will impact all eastbound traffic are scheduled 

Monday through Friday, from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m., with 24-hour operations 

on Saturdays and Sundays. 

Motorists will be able to travel westbound during construction. 

Details: As part of compliance with a regulatory consent order, the Department of Watershed Management (DWM) will perform emergency sewer repairs. Existing sewer mains will be removed and replaced to repair defects and increase the sewer system’s capacity. 

Traffic Control: Traffic control measures and signage are in place to safely guide motorists around the work zone. Residents and businesses within the work area will maintain access to homes, mail and package delivery, emergency services, and trash collection. 

Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution, follow posted detours, and avoid the area when possible. Alternative parking will be required for vehicles typically parked on the street. 

Detours: Motorists traveling east on 10th Street NE will detour by turning right onto Charles Allen Drive NE, left onto 8th Street NE, and left onto Monroe Drive NE. 

Motorists traveling north on Charles Allen Drive NE will detour by turning right onto 8th Street NE, and left onto Monroe Drive NE.
