City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management Launches PromisePay
Flexible Payment Plans for Customers
ATLANTA – The City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management (DWM) is launching PromisePay, a new program designed to provide flexible payment plan options for residential and commercial customers seeking help managing their water bills.
Through PromisePay, eligible customers can enroll in customized repayment plans ranging from two to twelve months, allowing them to address their owed balances through a single, convenient payment plan. The program is designed to give customers more control over their finances while maintaining uninterrupted water service.
Enrollment in PromisePay is simple, secure, and available online, allowing customers to sign up in minutes at any time. Customers can make payments using ACH, debit card, credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. The program also offers built-in flexibility, enabling eligible customers to request a payment date change, short-term extension, or re-enroll if needed.
“This program reflects Mayor Dickens’ commitment to Moving Atlanta Forward by supporting our customers while maintaining the reliability of Atlanta’s water system,” said Greg Eyerly, DWM Commissioner. “PromisePay gives customers more flexibility and greater control in managing their water bills, while helping them stay on track and avoid service disruptions.”
Customers who are currently enrolled in an existing DWM payment plan will remain in their current plan. Once that plan is completed or canceled, they may become eligible to enroll in PromisePay.
“The simplest test of whether a city is built for its residents is what happens when someone falls behind. Most cities treat a missed payment as a problem to punish. Atlanta is treating it as a problem to solve. A customer falls behind, and instead of a penalty, they get a plan. That changes everything about the relationship between a city and the people it serves. We’re proud to partner with Atlanta’s Department of Watershed Management to help make that happen,” said Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins, CEO and Co-Founder of Promise.
Customers with past-due balances may receive an official text message informing them of available payment options. Customers interested in learning more, checking eligibility, or enrolling in the program can visit www.atlantawatershed.org/PromisePay.
The PromisePay program is part of DWM’s ongoing commitment to delivering reliable water services while improving accessibility, transparency, and customer support for the residents and businesses of Atlanta.
