City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management Lifts Boil Water Advisory for Residents and Businesses in Southwest and Northwest Atlanta
Advisory remains in place for small portions of South Fulton, Fairburn, Union City,
Chattahoochee Hills, and Palmetto
ATLANTA – As of 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, the City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management (DWM) has lifted the Boil Water Advisory issued on Sunday, October 11, 2026, for customers in the Southwest and Northwest Atlanta based on negative sampling results. However, the advisory remains in place for small portions of South Fulton, Fairburn, Union City, Chattahoochee Hills, and Palmetto.
Customers should continue following all boil water precautions until an official notice lifting the advisory is issued. DWM anticipates lifting the boil water advisory by 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. Please see the updated DWM Public Alerts Map.
To protect against potential health risks, residents and businesses in the affected areas, particularly those who experienced water outages or low water pressure, should continue to boil tap water before using it for drinking, cooking, preparing baby food, or brushing teeth. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute before use. Bottled water may be used as an alternative.
